Ceramic Sector
The amount of water used will depend on the process carried out, but most of the wastewater is generated in the washing of grinding equipment, washing of enameling lines, and cleaning of the facilities.
The waters of the ceramic sector are characterized by the presence of suspended solids such as clays, metals, frit particles, silicates, and insoluble compounds in general. We also find fluorides, boron, COD, sulfates, chlorides, and other organic compounds used in enameling operations.
There are polished grinding and cutting processes that require large volumes of water. These waters are reused and need to be treated with products that do not increase conductivity and generate corrosion episodes in the metal parts of the machinery.
