Coagulants

The coagulation process is based on adding an electrolyte, called a coagulant, to the water.

It acts by releasing positive ions capable of attracting colloidal particles and neutralizing their charge or the formation of low solubility products that predominate by dragging the colloids.

types

Natural coagulants

Natural coagulants are a series of coagulants specifically to treat wastewater and are composed mainly of polymers of natural origin. These compounds are polysaccharides, polyphenols, peptides, and other water-soluble substances that act as coagulation and/or flocculation agents.

These products are especially innovative having remarkable advantages over traditional coagulants such as inorganic salts. Being organic polymers, natural coagulants do not modify the pH of the water to be treated and do not increase conductivity. In addition, it is not necessary to use alkalizing products such as sodium or calcium hydroxide and they have a higher efficiency and zero contribution of salts.

BEWAT Series

BEWAT CT and BEWAT MT series coagulants are an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional inorganic coagulants such as ferric chloride, aluminum sulfate, aluminum polychloride, etc.

Organic coagulants

Organic coagulants are highly efficient liquid chemicals due to their polymeric structure and high cationic charge. Polymers have coagulant and flocculant capacity.

These coagulants offer several advantages over inorganic coagulants. Firstly, they produce less sludge volume and are non-corrosive. This helps to preserve the integrity of the infrastructures and equipment used.

Types

Synthetic coagulants

Coagulants of this type are mixed products with an organic and inorganic component that act on the wastewater to be treated. Their main function is to destabilise both suspended and dissolved matter in the water. The aim of synthetic coagulants is to form clots that can be separated from the water by solid-liquid separation processes.

ADIMET

ADIMET series of products have been designed by SERVYECO to act as coagulating agents precipitating metals, through chelating and complexing processes, such as copper, nickel, zinc, chromium, cadmium, silver, lead, iron, or mercury. ADIMET products are applied when conventional physical-chemical treatments are not able to eliminate the metals present in wastewater, as they have to compete with the metal complexes they form.

These products are widely used in the metallurgical sector, including the automotive (cataphoresis processes), mining, textile, electrolytic zinc plating and galvanising of metal surfaces, among others.

ECOFLUOR

The ECOFLUOR series of products are capable of removing fluorides present in wastewater, reaching efficiency levels of over 95%, producing a very compact sludge that can be treated by decantation and subsequent filtration. These products are widely used in the glass and metalworking sectors, including the automotive sector (cataphoresis processes), mining (copper extraction) and the treatment of metal surfaces (aluminium).

ECOSULF

The products in the ECOSULF series are technological adjuvants that prevent the presence of hydrogen sulphide. The products are formulated on the basis of active ingredients that are much safer than the organochlorine compounds used as hydrogen sulphide binders, non-corrosive and non-hazardous to people and the environment. They offer alternative nutritional sources to sulphate-reducing bacteria to avoid their metabolic decomposition, preventing the formation of sulphides and ultimately the appearance of hydrogen sulphide.

These products have been specifically developed to eliminate odours in wastewater, sewage treatment plant sludge and septic tanks.

ECOSULF protects equipment from possible corrosion due to the formation of hydrogen sulphide. Most importantly, it safeguards health due to the environmental presence of hydrogen sulphide.
